Martin Park Nature Center

Situated close to Lake Hefner but to the north, this nature wonderland attracts visitors for an array of reasons. 140 acres of lush greenery await those who venture north of the city. There are three miles of trails through a wildlife sanctuary and recreational areas. Bring the kids as there is an educational facility where they can learn about the local aviation or enjoy an afternoon picnic.

Scissortail Park

Right downtown and within walking distance to the Oklahoma River, this quaint park is your best downtown option. No rentals are available due to it being a relatively smaller park. There is a huge playground and you can rent pedal boats and enjoy the view of Bricktown.

Memorial Park

This uptown location has a splash pad for the kids in summertime. That is its main attraction although there are basketball and tennis courts along with soccer fields, and a recreation center. Again, it is too small of a location to offer rentals.

Way south of downtown and not far from the airport is this gem of a spot. 100 acres with all sorts of activity for the family also includes an indoor pool.

Near capital hill and south of the river is this new housing development that comes with grandiose plans. It has the actual Santa Monica Pier Ferris Wheel. They offer live music in the warmer months and have free lawn games to play outside!!

Lake Olverhauser

Straight west of town, down I-40 this lake has all of your aquatic needs covered: kayak, canoe, and stand up paddleboard. Their Route 66 park has an outdoor pavilion that you can rent as well as an amphitheater. North of the lake is a wildlife refuge complete with trails for exploring.
